Why we teach
Emanuel Academy’s values and goals are instilled by skilled and dedicated teachers and administrators as well as involved parents who work together to create a supportive and challenging environment for our students. Our students are inspired to develop a love of learning and to achieve their individual academic potential.
We address the whole child and his/her individual strengths to build intellectual and emotional security. The curriculum balances technical skills and creativity, blending academic preparedness, the arts, analytic thinking, and Jewish values and tradition. Students are immersed in the richness of their Jewish traditions and encouraged to develop a feeling of joy in their heritage as both Americans and Jews.
Jewish values are imparted along with American ideals, and emphasis is placed on the historic inter-relationship between the two. In both secular studies and Judaica, students are taught the ethical reasoning skills that they will need to balance individual needs and desires with responsibility to the broader community. |
